Located in Bartibog, NB, (20 minutes outside Miramichi) on 150 acres overlooking the beautiful Miramichi River, Camp Sheldrake boasts two waterfronts, and several kilometers of woodland trails. We are a residential outdoor adventure summer camp for youth and teens.

As a Catholic-based camp, affiliated with the Roman Catholic Diocese of Saint John, our program bases itself in Christian values and often focuses on the theme of Social Justice. Our days & meals begin with prayer and we end our days around a group campfire based on Spiritual and Social Justice themes. 

We welcome campers of all denominations.

We are a non-profit charitable organization and strive to provide the best possible experience for all our campers.

This website is designed to assist you in knowing more about Camp Sheldrake, its’ rental programs and its’ summer camp programs. Here you will find information about our rental policies, a description of camp facilities, camp policies, as well as options and instruction for renting the facilities.

Camp Sheldrake runs eight weekly programs through July and August for children and youth ages 5 – 17.  Our programs aim to strengthen youth through meaningful experiences and leadership development.
 Camp Sheldrake operates with nearly 20 college-aged counselors with first-aid training, giving us a 4 to 1 camper staff ratio at all times.  We have experienced facilitators on site to lead off-season team building
and leadership retreats. We also offer Day Adventure Programs during May, June & September for School and adult groups.

Our kitchen staff provides well balanced meals from our Mango-approved menu in compliance with the Canada Food Guide.

Our summer programs include climbing & rappelling, canoeing, drama, nature adventure, team sports, swimming, themed events, leadership & spiritual development, archery, music, arts & crafts, low ropes challenge course,  and a weekly Celebration of the Eucharist.
